LIPO 360

Why Lipo 360?

Liposuction is a cosmetic procedure known to help reveal muscle tone and create a contoured physique by removing unwanted fat deposits from under the skin.

At Reflections Cosmetic Surgery we are pleased to offer lipo 360. This procedure also uses Vaser Liposuction to allow for a smoother, and gentle, more controlled liposuction procedure for precise body contouring and figure refinement.

Read on to find out if this cosmetic surgery procedure is a good fit for you.

What Is Lipo 360?

Lipo 360 is essentially liposuction of the entire midsection. In other words, liposuction of the upper and lower back, armpits, posterior flanks, anterior flanks, upper and lower abdomen.

This procedure removes the unwanted deep fat of the midsection but doesn’t address the skin. Even if your skin isn’t loose, after aggressive lipo 360, there may potentially be loose skin. Due to this, a procedure that can address this loose skin may be necessary.

This would include procedures such as tummy tuck or an abdominoplasty or Renuvion. Tummy tuck removes the excess skin of the abdomen but doesn’t address that dreaded upper back role or bra line region.

This is where Renuvion may be able to help tighten this skin with out a large cut. Or in a patient who doesn’t have much loose skin at all, lipo 360 with Renuvion alone may be a great option.

How It Works

Lipo 360 is usually a very easy recovery compared to other cosmetic and plastic surgical procedures, however it is still surgery.

Due to the large amount of surface area, this procedure requires general or MAC anesthesia. Anesthesia is used to keep you comfortable during your procedure. You will be asleep and wake up with great results in no time!

Small incisions approximately 4 mm in length are made in your skin. A fluid called tumescent which usually contains saline, lidocaine and epinephrine is then infiltrated under your skin and into the subcutaneous space, also know as your fat.

Vaser is usually used to help “break up” the fat prior to sucking it out. This allows for smooth results with less bruising.

After this, a long hollow tool called a cannula is passed through this subcutaneous space and the fat is sucked out.

Who Is VASER® Right For?

An ideal candidate for the VASER® procedure is someone with good physical and mental health. It is important that the candidate has realistic expectations regarding the surgery and does not have any serious medical conditions.

This procedure is best suited to those who are within 15 pounds of their ideal weight who are looking to spot-treat fat deposits to reveal muscle tone underneath and refine the appearance of their figure.

This procedure is best suited to those looking to streamline and refine the following areas:

  • arms
  • chest
  • chin and neck
  • upper back
  • waistline and stomach
  • hips
  • buttocks

What Is Recovery Like?

Recovery for lipo 360 is historically easier than most other cosmetic and plastic surgery procedures. Down time is approximately 3 days.

I explain this as being very sore and tired and not to make any plans during this time period. There will be a large amount of drainage for the first 24-48 hours. This is normal. This is the excess tumescent fluid that was placed into the subcutaneous space as well as some swelling.

By the 72nd hour the drainage should be minimal and pain controlled well. Getting back into normal living is usually obtained at this time but with no heart rate elevation (No cardio or sex).

A compressive garment will be required to be worn for the first 3-4 months for best results. Lymphatic massages are highly recommended and make an easier recovery with less pain and swelling. It also aids in less scar tissue and a smooth result.
