Buttock Lift Surgery

Why Buttock Lift Surgery?

If you experience loose or wrinkled skin on your buttock and can’t seem to improve this with diet and exercise, then a buttock lift could help you feel more confident.

Patients who have recently lost a significant amount of weight can experience saggy skin. It can also happen because of aging. One way to combat this is to try to fill up the excess skin by building up the buttock muscle, but this in and of itself can be difficult.

At Reflections Cosmetic Surgery in Cartersville, Georgia, we offer the buttock lift to help remove this excess skin and strive to hide your scars within your bikini line. After undergoing a butt lift, your bottom will look lifted. The excess skin will be removed, and the buttock will look more youthful.

Is Buttock Lift Surgery for You?

If you find that exercise and diet don’t provide the desired results, a buttock lift at Reflections Cosmetic Surgery of Cartersville, GA, could help you.

When the skin has lost its elasticity, reducing saggy skin, stretch marks, or cellulite can be extremely challenging without skin removal or skin tightening treatment. Dr. Gusching may recommend a butt lift to older patients with severe sagging skin or to younger patients who have lost a significant amount of weight.

This is a very common procedure for patients who have lost massive amounts of weight due to gastric sleeve or gastric bypass. Women who have had one or more pregnancies might also notice a change in the elasticity of their skin.

How Is It Done?

At Reflections Cosmetic Surgery in Cartersville, GA, we will perform your surgery in an outpatient, private surgery center conveniently located within the same building as the clinic space.

The buttock lift is performed as an outpatient surgery, so you will need a driver over the age of 18 to drive you home from the surgery center as well as take care of you for the first 24 hrs. The surgery takes approximately 2.5 hours.

The incision is started along the curve at the top of your buttock, just below where your panty line would fall. The excess skin is then removed and elevated. The skin edges are then sutured or stitched together. The incision runs from above the buttock cleft along the top of the buttock (along the buttock ridge) and ends in the lateral hip area.

If you have had a prior tummy tuck, the buttock lift incision is usually continuous with the tummy tuck incision, resulting in a true body lift.

What Is The Difference Between A Buttock Lift and A Brazillian Butt Lift?

These two procedures, the Brazillian Butt Lift and the Buttock Lift, can potentially achieve some of the same goals; however, they are each used for different patients based on their individual body types, history, and goals.

What Is Recovery Like?

Following your butt lift surgery, you may experience swelling and bruising near the treatment areas, which could last a few months.

Pain is usually along the incision and is managed with narcotics for the first few days, followed by NSAIDs and Tylenol. There may also be some numbness which is usually temporary but may be permanent in certain areas.

Sitting in a normal position for an extended period of time can feel uncomfortable, but we will provide detailed aftercare instructions to encourage healing and reduce discomfort.

To ensure your incisions heal properly, it is imperative to attend all of your follow-up appointments and to care for your incisions accordingly.

What does a Buttock Lift cost in Cartersville, GA?

The cost for any cosmetic procedure is extremely variable. It depends on patient’s goals, their body habitus, and their physiology. It also depends on the surgeon’s experience and expertise.

Price shopping for a cosmetic surgery is something that isn’t recommended and must be done with caution.  National averages can be seen on the American Society of Plastic Surgeons website found at
