How It Works
The excisional Brachioplasty surgery takes an average of three hours to complete. This depends on your arm size and the amount of tissue being removed.
During surgery, excess fat is removed via liposuction and resection or cutting the excess fat and skin out. Our staff will discuss with you the exact nature of your procedure before we begin, and we are always available to answer any questions.
If liposuction and Renuvion are determined to be the best avenue, the surgery takes about one and a half hours. It all depends on the amount of fat that needs to be liposuctioned.
Following the liposuction, the Renuvion device is then passed under the skin, heating the connective tissues to 85 degrees Celsius, causing the skin to contract.
The same small incision sites are used that were made for the liposuction. Renuvion leaves a patient with only three tiny incisions.
What to Expect
The surgery is performed to ensure an even shape of the arms. Too much skin and fat being removed should be prevented to allow for a smooth contour of the arms.
Incisions are carefully placed, the nature of which will be discussed during your consultation. A recovery period will follow surgery, and then you will be allowed to leave. You won’t be able to drive yourself, so please have someone with you.
Most patients are able to resume their regular, daily activities within about a week. Downtime is minimal, and healing is generally easier and more comfortable than expected.
